Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actor. Her feature film debut was in a minor role in The James Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). Then, later, she portrayed Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and in the Last Crusade 1989). Siobhan Donavan played the role part of A Prayer for the Dying in 1987, Charlotte appeared in Taffin (in 1988) and Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody began her modeling career after her being approached by an aspiring photographer. The career she pursued has developed into commercial modeling. Doody avoided nude and glamour work. This was a principle she carried over to her acting. Once she caught the attention of the director of casting in an upcoming James Bond movie, she was cast in A View to a Kill in the role of Jenny Flex. Doody was listed within John Willis Screen World's Vol. 3. She is listed as one of the 12 top actors of 1986. 38. Doody, who was only 18 at the time she played Doody in A Prayer for the Dying (1987), starring Mickey Rourke. Doody is the youngest Bond girl who has a name to her. Another early movie played a tiny part in the film as IRA Siobhan Doovan, a member of the IRA in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody was a silent actress in a 1987 film adaptation to The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream bride Lilias. Her first lead role was in an episode from 1988 of the Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took probably her most high-profile part in her career as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as a co-star with Harrison Ford. Doody has collaborated with three James Bond actors. Doody costarred with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was in part inspired by the Hitler Diaries publishing scam. Then she moved to Hollywood. She was replaced by Cybill Shepherd as the L'Oreal spokesperson part. Doody then appeared as Flannery Sheen's wife and agent opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II became available in 1994. Doody was part of the 2002 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine portrayed her at a ceremony in recognition of an award. in 2004, Doody was in the film with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version to King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody appeared in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody was a part-time actress in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Doody appeared on RTE's the medical thriller The Clinic. The project was later shelved. The year 2011 saw her debut on the second season on E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. The Almeria Tierra de Film Award was presented to her on November 21 in 2018. She also received one of the stars on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
