Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and Her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was apparent from the time she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of the first time she tried, she placed second in the 200-meter event in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix finished high school by signing a contract as a professional athlete with the company that makes sports Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. The following year, Felix achieved her first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making the world junior record taking 200 metres at 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest world athlete to win the 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, defeating her time-tested Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Jaeiro, and Tokyo. She was consistently at the top of the podium in the events.
